Spirit and Tradition of Zen
Founded as a specialized school of Soto Zen Buddhism in 1876, Aichi Gakuin University has passed down with care the Buddhist spirit, including repaying kindness and showing gratitude as well as mercy, for more than 140 years.
Japanese Culture Experience Program
International students can experience calligraphy, tea ceremony, origami, and the Zen meditation unique to our university.
Through activities such as cooking classes, you can also learn about Japanese traditional food culture and the philosophy behind it.
Exploring Historical Sites
Nagoya is closely connected to “The Three Unifiers”: Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu. You can experience Japanese history firsthand through excursions to Nagoya Castle, the Tokugawa Art Museum, and neighboring shrines and temples.

The main campus is rich with nature and lifeLocated in the university city of Nisshin City, it occupies an area of 500,000 square meters, which is equivalent to about 70 soccer fields. In addition to the four playing fields on the premises, there are also practice fields for various sports, all brimming with student activity. With cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in fall, you can enjoy a fulfilling campus life in a nature-rich environment that fosters open-mindedness and sensitivity.

An urban campus with thriving collaborations
between companies and government agenciesThe Meijo Koen Campus in central Nagoya offers plenty of opportunities for practical learning. It is close to government offices and downtown areas, and there are frequent collaborations with companies and government offices, so you can pursue social science studies in the economic and administrative centers of the Chubu region. Furthermore, as a next-generation eco-campus, it is working hard to reduce CO₂ emissions and optimize energy use. At the same time, the campus contributes to the SDGs by creating a comfortable and sustainable environment for students.
