Foster individuals with practical skills for solving social issues
Clues for solutions to social issues, such as SDGs, may be closer than you think. This department aims to develop individuals who can identify issues involving people and society and lead them toward solutions. We cultivate people who identify issues proactively and work toward solutions through data science literacy education based on evidence and practical social participation.

Learn comprehensively about the ever-changing society through six clusters (subject groups). Students acquire research skills and the ability to make proposals to identify and solve issues in daily life and society. -
Practical problem-solving Research Project held throughout your four years
In a Research Project that tackles issues of contemporary society, consistently work on everything from identifying issues to planning solutions to improve their problem-solving skills and initiative. -
Data science literacy education based on evidence
Practical learning is implemented to correctly decipher information and improve interdisciplinary skills, such as verbal communication, ICT utilization, and logical thinking skills.
Six clusters directly connected to the real world that comprehensively improve problem-solving skills
The curriculum is designed for comprehensive learning in six clusters (subject groups): Politics and Administration, Economy and Environment, International Affairs, Society and Culture, and Information and Media, and Human Science. In the Research Project, held in small classes throughout your four years (students join a seminar with the same teacher in years three and four), students learn in collaboration with peers to accumulate practice in identifying problems and solutions.
