We provide education for those who aspire to be active in regional economies by acquiring advanced professional economic intelligence and a global perspective, viewing the modern economy as an opportunity to update business and administrative practices.

Through our two study tracks—the Economics Course and the Public Policy Course—we train highly skilled professionals who will contribute to regional economic societies in the era of globalization.

Established in April 2017, the Graduate School of Economics at Aichi Gakuin University has provided systematic education and research grounded in various fields, including theory and empirical analysis, history and history of thought, applied economics and policy, as well as law and administration. Now, marking our 10th anniversary in April 2027, we are launching a new 'Public Policy Course' to address evolving concerns that place greater emphasis on policy and administration.
To this end, we have enhanced our faculty, course offerings, and guidance system. First, regardless of which study track students choose, they are free to take a wide range of courses from both tracks. Furthermore, we maintain a faculty of 25—comprising 18 full-time and 7 adjunct faculty members—to serve an annual intake of 7 students, ensuring an environment for small-group education and individualized instruction.
In the Economics Course, students can study international economics, with a focus on its connections with emerging and developing countries—particularly within Asia; regional economics, which examines the creative development of companies in the Nagoya area, a hub for manufacturing; as well as environmental and agricultural economics, which are useful for developing businesses related to the environment and agriculture. In the field of finance, students can specialize in the Japanese financial system and global finance; in accounting, they can study the Japanese corporate accounting system, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), tax accounting, and financial accounting; and in the field of policy, they can gain professional knowledge in areas such as public finance, tax systems, employment, and social security.
Furthermore, to help students aspire to become highly skilled professionals such as tax accountants, financial specialists, and national tax specialists, we offer a rich curriculum that includes not only subjects in the field of accounting but also a comprehensive range of tax law subjects, such as the tax system, Income Tax Law, Consumption Tax Law, and Corporation Tax Law. We also provide extensive guidance for the preparation of master's theses. If your research for obtaining a master's degree is accredited by the National Tax Council, you receive an exemption for two subjects in the field of tax law for the Certified Public Tax Accountant Examination.
In the Public Policy Course, students can study a broad range of disciplines adjacent to economics, such as political science, public administration, sociology, and social engineering. This enables students to approach various issues in regional economic societies from a wide range of fields, facilitating the development of policy proposals with a broader perspective. Furthermore, we are planning educational and research initiatives that will play a role in promoting public-academic partnerships with administrative agencies.
