The School of Dentistry aims for all students to pass the national exam. At its core is a detailed education system that takes into consideration the characteristics of students. We start supporting students from Year 1. In addition, students are able to prepare for the national exam in an ideal environment boasting the largest affiliated hospital of a School of Dentistry in the Chubu region. As part of unique support to improve the rate of passing the national exam on the first attempt, Aichi Gakuin University provides an early start to preparation for it in Year 5 and divides students into classes according to their performance in Year 6. Since the School's establishment as the only School of Dentistry in Aichi Prefecture, the University has played a central role in dentistry research. Envisioning the future state of dentists, we provide environments that enable students to learn about a wide range of advanced dentistry research, from the basics to clinical care.
Build a solid foundation for dentistry in basic fields and cultivate the skills suitable for clinical practice in clinical fields
Cutting-edge research activities are conducted in a total of 24 lectures for basic, clinical, and educational fields. For those who are interested, participation in research in lectures is possible beginning at the undergraduate level, and students in this department present their research findings at a variety of academic conferences every year. In addition, we also implement interprofessional education (IPE joint lectures) with students from a neighboring Faculty of Medicine and the School of Pharmacy so students can understand the importance of team-based care in medical settings. Students exchange opinions with a variety of students and cultivate diverse perspectives and values.
