A Peaceful Rise of Asia

授業の概要

This course provides a detailed investigation into brief history, economic and political change leading to social development, challenges and opportunities facing the regional order in both Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific. It discusses on the relationship between diverse factors in explaining rapid economic growth, democratization of political institutions, security order and regional powers.

Students will be able to
(1) Use methodologies of regional and area studies and digest information
(2) Understand complex perspectives of the region
(3) Develop skills in applied writing on thematic themes
(4) Discover situational urgency and analyze cause-impact relations on critical issue
(5) Have knowledge foundation to become policy analysts, country experts and subject specialists
