現代のファンタジー映画は時間を超えた主人公の旅をどのように描いているでしょう。この講義では、主人公が勇気や決断を伴う道を進み、成長の大きなチャレンジに出会う３つの映画を取り上げます。パーシー･ジャクソンとハリー･ポッターとエラゴンは私たちに人生について教えてくれます。
英語の映画を学びながら、リスニング、読解、ライティングを通して文法や表現を身につけます |

| 到達目標 | | This is part one of a year course on the theme of the Hero's Journey in fantasy film. The weekly class activities center around screening of popular contemporary fantasy films. Students work on various worksheet based tasks that include listening, reading and writing. Grammar, vocabulary, expression building tasks and critical thinking questions are explored through the film worksheets and homework. Students are also responsible for short reading and writing research reports and assignments as part of the coursework
The spring semester films are: Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Eragon.
