Self introduction of students and teacher. Week #2: Ask teacher a question activity--hand out listening and music tapes. Begin Wizard of Oz movie project in class. Week #3: Picture description activity. Conversation topic: talk about your school life and goals at AGU. Continue Wizard of Oz in class. Week #4: In class 1 minute self introduction speech project. Continue Wizard of Oz in class. Week #5: Study conversation topic: what is best way to learn English. Project #1 Show and Tell--students bring in an interesting object to talk about. Discuss meaning and importance of the Wizard of Oz. Week #6: Show and Tell group #1. One-day brief introduction to the highlights of Goen With the Wind. Week #7: Show and Tell group #2. Conversation topic: Part time jobs. Begin Casablanca movie project in class. Week #8: Show and Tell group #3. Activity: Improving English expressiveness through "emotional role play" Continue Casablanca in class. Week #9: Movie project: introduce a dvd movie to the class featuring your favorite scene. Continue Casablanca in class. Week #10: Movie project group #2. Study the meaning and greatness of Casablanca. Week #11: Movie project group #3. Practice passage from Dr. Seuss The Cat in the Hat. Begin North by Northwest movie project in class. Week #12: Movie Project group #4. Continue North by Northwest in class. Week #13: Movie project group #5. Perform second Cat in Hat passage in class. Continue North by Northwest in class. Week #14: Vocabulary and pattern practice review. Discuss Hitchcock and North by Northwest in class. Begin Simpson’s movie. Week #15: Finish Simpson’s movie – discuss. Review for test.
