Fairy Tale in Film
科目のねらい
The goal of this course is to offer a content based film class that combines both language study and critical thinking activities in the curriculum. The theme of the course is film adaptation of popular fairy tale and fairy tale literature. The course aims to improve English reading, writing and listening skills while providing an engaging popular culture format that will encourage critical thinking and creativity in the classroom.

What do fairy tales mean? How has contemporary film adapted these classic stories for today?
.おとぎ話は何を意味しているのでしょうか？どのようにこれらの昔話が現代の映画に取り入れられているのでしょうか？「映画におけるおとぎ話」は、英語の映画を教材として用います。授業では、古典的なおとぎ話を題材にした３つの映画を見ていきます。みなさんには、各々の映画を能動的に見てもらい、使用されている文法や語彙について学んだり、物事を客観的に捉えて考えるワークシートに取り組んだりしてもらいます。課題として、創作的な作文や映画の脚本を予定しています。学期末には、授業で見た映画や、配布したプリント、映画の脚本をもとにした期末試験を実施します
