（目標） | | このクラスはスピーキングとリスニングを学びます。この教科書のそれぞれのユニットは学生である皆さんの日常生活に関連したさまざまなトピックを紹介します。それぞれのトピックにおいて語彙や会話に必要な語句を学びます。さらにお互いのパートナーとの会話の練習をしっかりやります。この方式は新たなクラスメートに出会い、親密になれます。
目標の一つは：話すことです。
a．短い会話の語句を十分に使いましょう。
b．自然なスピードで話しましょう。
c．さらに複雑な表現を試みましょう。
目標の二つは：リスニングです。聞くことによって学びましょう。
目標の三つは：語彙です。ふさわしい新しい単語を学びましょう。
This is a speaking and listening class. Each unit of the text introduces a different topic related to students' daily life and draws on their own experiences. For each topic, they learn vocabulary and short conversational phrases, but spend most of the class talking with partners. This is a good opportunity to meet new people and to get to know classmates better. the course goals are
speaking: to be able to use short conversational phrases well
speaking at a natural speed
trying to use more complex language
listening: learning by listening

| | 授業の内容・
スケジュール | | 学生のみなさんは毎週英語で話す練習をします。はっきりと、大きな声で話しましょう。質問を行い、情報を交換してコミニケーションをはかり、新たな英語表現を体験しましょう。
Students get weekly practice speaking in English, speaking clearly and loudly, asking questions and giving information, communicating, and experimenting with new English.
Course sessions:
1. Self-introduction 1: Vocabulary and conversational expressions; partner
practice.
2. Self-introduction 2: CD listening, partner talk, dictation, vocabulary quiz.
3. Family 1: Vocabulary on family tree and relations, family questions.
4. Family 2: Vocabulary and exercises on describing people.
5. Family 3: CD Listening practice, partner work, dictation and vocabulary quiz.
6. Sports 1: Vocabulary, backchanneling ('aizuchi'). Timeline homework.
7. Sports 2: Kinds of sports, expressing likes and dislikes, CD listening.
8. Sports 3: Partner conversations, dictation, vocabulary quiz.
9. Midterm examination (writing original conversations utilizing course learning)
10. Food 1: "Super-Size Me" video excerpts and questions. Food vocabulary.
11. Food 2: Agreeing and disagreeing hints, CD listening and conversations.
12. Food 3: Partner conversations on food and eating out, dictation, quiz, and Mr.
Bean video ("Making a Sandwich").
13. Part-time Jobs 1: Vocabulary, work questions. Good news/bad news hints.
14. Part-time Jobs 2: Job worksheet, explaining jobs, dictation, quiz.
15. General Review: relay race conversation review, practice test for final exam. |
| | 評価方法
（基準等） | | 評価は宿題、語彙テスト、授業での参加度、及び中間テスト、期末テストに基づきます。
Grading will be based on homework and vocabulary quizzes (40%), class work/participation (20%), and midterm and final exams (listening and writing) (40%). |
