授業の概要
（目標） | | 今日、ファンタジーは映画界の中でもっとも人気のあるジャンルの一つです。ファンタジー映画は私たちを別世界の物語へと招待してくれますし、想像力をかき立てられたり、あるいは現実世界で経験する様々な出来事の秘密を解き明かしてくれることもあります。ファンタジーの中には現実の世界と全くかけ離れたものもあれば、現実の中に潜むものもあるのです。もっともそれを知るためには私たちの想像力を働かせる必要がありますが。ファンタジー映画のヒーローやヒロインから私たちは人生という旅について何を学ぶことができるでしょうか。
この授業では英語のファンタジー映画を取り扱い、その主題、映像、カメラワークを研究し、さらに英語表現について考察していきます。創造的言語活動、配布する背景知識についてのハンドアウトなどを通して学生の皆さんのリスニング、リーディング、スピーキングの能力を高めていきます。一つの映画についての学習が終わるごとに復習テストをします。
背景知識についてのハンドアウトには英語または日本語で各映画の登場人物、場所、主題などの情報が記載してあります。例えば「ハリー・ポッターの世界では誰が本当のボルデモートだったか？」「ダイモンとは何か？」「夜の博物館では何が起きたのか？」「本当のナルニアはどこにいるのか？」「アスランは何の象徴なのか？」
この授業はファンタジー映画が好きで英語の技能を伸ばそうと思う学生の皆さんには最適なものです。受講する場合は専用のフォルダーとノートを用意してください。これは学期の終わりに担当教員に提出してもらい平常点として評価の対象とします |

スケジュール | | Spring-Summer semester course consists of 3 popular high fantasy films with 3 special heroes: Harry Potter, Lyra Belacqua and the 4 Pevensie children. Each story takes place in another world, the wizard world of Harry Potter, the parallel universe of Lyra, and the magical world of Narnia.

（基準等） | | | Grade based on class assignments for each film, short internet based reports, review exams and final semester exam. (80%)Participation is also part of grade. (20%). |
