Self introduction of students and teacher. Week #2: Ask teacher a question activity--hand out listening and music tapes. Listen to Sinatra's New York, New York Week #3: Picture description activity. Conversation topic: talk about your school life and goals at AGU. Introduce spring Back to the Future movie project. Week #4: In class 1 minute self introduction speech project. Roadrunner/Coyote video project: predicting animated stories. Listen to Elvis Presley's "I'm All Shook Up!" Week #5: Study conversation topic: what is best way to learn English. Project #1 Show and Tell--students bring in an interesting object to talk about. Week #6: Show and Tell group #1. Watch and practice scene from Sponge Bob. Listen to the Rolling Stones' "Jumping Jack Flash" Week #7: Show and Tell group #2. Conversation topic: Part time jobs. Week #8: Show and Tell group #3. Activity: Improving English expressiveness through "emotional role play" Listen to Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" Week #9: Movie project: introduce a dvd movie to the class featuring your favorite scene. Week #10: Movie project group #2. Watch and study scene from Simpsons. Week #11: Movie project group #3. Practice passage from Dr. Seuss The Cat in the Hat. Listen to the Beach Boys' "California Girls" Week #12: Movie Project group #4. Perform Cat in the Hat passage in front of class. Week #13: Movie project group #5.
