The Library and Informaton Center is highly indicative of the level of the learning of a university and therefore of the status of the university itself. For this reason, Aichi Gakuin University has been sparing no efforts to build a good library since its inception. As a result, the main library and the other libraries of the University have 929,588 volumes, including advanced as well as introductory books and journals, amongst which are 3,258 foreign and 7,277 Japanese journals.
The Library and Informaton Center is a member of a nation-wide inter library loan network. Its reference room also offers the Service of checking books out of the National Diet Library. Moreover, it offers international inter-library loan service for the user who wants to borrow books from libraries outside of Japan.
Center for Language Audio-Visual Education :
The Center for Language Audio-Visual Education makes available a variety of carefully compiled and catalogued materials, including DVD,LD,video cassette tapes,CD, microfilms and other materials. The library also has the following facilities: -one multi purpose hall with 90 seats, one middle-size room with 24 seats, two small rooms for groups, each with 15 seats, four individual rooms, one lounge with 34 seats. Students can enjoy music, movies, TV or radio in these facilities.
The Library and Informaton Center also has a branch at the School of Dentistry, which houses about 130,000 books, and 2,400 foreign and Japanese journals. It makes available Online Databases which, for example, Elsevier Science and other publishers offer.
