Policy studies is all about learning how to analyze and solve the real-life problems that people and societies face every day. Instead of being narrowly focusing on a single discipline, graduates of the Faculty of Policy Studies are equipped with a wide-ranging skill set and the ability to look at society from a broad perspective. Policy Studies graduates can see the whole forest. They are not blinded by the trees.
When the Faculty of Information and Policy Studies was first launched in 1998, Aichi-Gakuin University was one of the few institutions in Japan to have such a cutting-edge faculty. Over the past eight years, our graduates have gone on to successful careers in both the public and private sectors. The establishment of the Faculty of Policy Studies in April 2006 is the next chapter in this success story.
In order to carry on our tradition of creating outstanding citizens, two fields of specialization have been created. This innovative new approach reflects the dynamic nature of Japanese society and provides for the ever-changing needs of students.
Policy Studies focuses on social and political issues at both the domestic and international level.
Life Design provides students with the opportunity to develop as individuals and create their own life plan.
